On Tuesday, July 6th, DCP hosted its second high profile visitor in as many months. This time, Mr. Shinichi Usuda, owner of the Canopus Drum company in Japan stopped by to say hello. On Wednesday, June 16th, drumming superstar Vinnie Colaiuta paid Shane a visit at DCP. Vinnie is currently on tour with Herbie Hancock and had a gig at The Music Hall in Portsmouth in the evening. Shane and Vinnie spent over an hour trying out various snare drums from DCPs stock that features top craftsmen and manufacturers like Brady, Dunnett, Joyful Noise, and Craviotto. Thanks to you, our most excellent customers, it has truly been an amazing year. When we opened DCP in 2009, we did so doing our best to acknowledge that we are just one small part of a big family. We pledged to provide the best service possible and to treat you, our customers, as we would expect to be treated ourselves. In a sense, you might say we intend DCP to be a shop for the people, by the people.

On April 19, Shane traveled to Monroe, North Carolina, home of Ludwig Drums. Shane was invited, along with a handful of Ludwig’s best dealers from across the USA to visit the factory and meet with key members of the Ludwig Team. Following the phenomenal success of the Benny Greb Byzance Sand Ride, Meinl is now introducing a complimentary pair of Benny Grab Byzance Sand Hats. Based on the success of the Byzance Sand Ride the best-selling ride cymbal here at DCP over the last several months, it is safe to say that the new Sand Hats will fly off the shelves. The winter of 2009/2010 has definitely been one to remember. We want to thank each and every one of you for helping DCP get off the ground. Just as the outside weather is being to warm, things inside DCP are red hot. In the last couple of weeks we have received a ton of new gear including hard to find cymbals, snares and brand new products from the NAMM show. What’s more important than just having the gear though, is knowing that you can call us at any time and talk to someone who KNOWS the gear… neat eh?
