Fidock makes exclusive use of solid stave shells for all of its snare drums and drum set products products, lathed thin and genuinely handcrafted. The lathing process means less glue, no harsh reflective coatings, tonal timber, thin shells, outstanding bearing edges, and more tone and depth than traditional ply-shell drums. The results speak for themselves: Warm, musical, earthy and powerful drums, with all aspects of the construction and finishing processes directed towards elite recording instruments.

The Fidock 9×13 Fatboy Snare drum begs the question: why haven’t these dimensions become standard in snare drums? We all know that bringing the right tools with you is half the battle. So here at last, is a practical and quick to tune snare drum with more FAT and bottom end than you can poke a stick at. And the beauty of it is that at a medium tension, this drum has all the bounce and power of a 14” but with a ton more bottom end.

Fidock 6.5×14 Blackwood Snare Drum

The Fidock Blackwood snare drum is a premium recording instrument acclaimed by studios and drummers worldwide: Quick and easy to tune, our Blackwood snares respond admirably to a wide range of tunings with warm, full voices; controlled overtones, plenty of bite and a clean crisp snare response. FHD snares come with Trick multi-step throw-offs, Remo heads and 8 lugs (single end tube lug/double row).

This 6.5×14 model features 8 lugs, 6-7mm shell wall with sculpted reinforcement rings. Immense power, very full and extremely clean with well rounded controlled overtones. In this size, you got it covered from Fusion to Heavy Metal. A wonderful recording or concert snare. This is very FAT and very classy.

Fidock Handcrafted Drum Sets

Every aspect of a Fidock Handcrafted Drums drum kit is directed towards delivering an outstanding instrument for professional use. Fidock exclusively uses Australian Blackwood for its drum sets, a sustainable timber well-known to serious instrument makers for its superior tonal and tensile qualities. Fidock makes drum kits available by special order to meet any requirements. That said, Fidock urrently offers two preconfigured drum sets, the “Bebop” and the “Session.”

Using only native Australian Blackwood for its incredible tone and resonance, each stave drum is hand carved including sculpted reinforcement rings. Steam bent solid wooden hoops (also Blackwood) add to the depth and warmth of these incredibly thin shells. Versatility is the key! Play it soft, play it loud, the “Fidock Bebop” is a well balanced instrument with a clear rich tone and beautiful sustain. With all the top and bottom end you could dream of, these drums come together with a soulful coherent voice. And the timber… what else is there? BLACKWOOD!

The Session | Listen

Built specifically for the studio, the Fidock Session 5-piece drum kit is entirely handcrafted from select tonal blackwood. Each drum, including the bass drum, has reinforcement rings sculpted into the shell. This feature not only adds focus, warmth and depth across the entire drum set, but eliminates the need for external dampening. This also allows lathing of the shells to the optimum thickness for maximum volume and tone. As a result, shell thickness is varied across the kit for a perfectly balanced ensemble. Fidock provides unique steam bent hoops sitting low on the skin that allow for smoother access to the playing surface and a more efficient playing motion (kits are also available with flange or diecast steel hoops).
