New for 2012 is the Canopus “The Maple” 12-ply snare drum. Building upon the success of the Canopus “The Maple” 8-ply snare drums, this new 12-ply model features a slightly thicker shell that boasts increased projection and a phenomenal full tone. This particular drum is 6.5×14 (with a 12-ply all maple shell) and is outfitted with Die cast hoops, eight Canopus brass-plated single point lugs with a beautiful Natural Satin Oil finish. Shane says emphatically, “Every serious player should have one of these in their arsenal!”

Canopus “The Maple” snare drums feature a super thin 5mm, 8 ply 100% maple snare. The thin shell allows the Canopus “The Maple” snare drums to possess good sound projection, with complex, controlled high-pitch overtones. Standard equipped Canopus vintage snare wires and die cast hoops give it a sensitive feel, and the shell construction is designed for the best sound production with a delicate and precise bearing edge.

We stock these regularly in a variety of sizes and colors. Currently we have a 14×6.5 Charcoal Satin Oil model on hand, but they can be ordered in just about any finish Canopus offers.
