Description

Joyful Noise American Legacy Series Drum Set - Serial Number 001!

“These drums are my personal prototypes which I have used to design a new generation of legacy instruments. Some aspects of these designs will have minor changes in the future, because JNDC is committed to improvements every day. These are exceptional and historic instruments."
- Curt Waltrip JNDC CEO/President

The JNDC American Legacy Series is designed to leverage the reclaimed submerged timbers, which we call “Legacy Timbers” from the Great Lakes, also known as “Timeless Timbers”. These timbers have greater density and lower mass, which is what allows energy to transfer more efficiently and thus
the drum resonates more vibrantly.

This drum set features proprietary JNDC hardware designs and steam bent shells. The drums have been finished to a high gloss and then sealed in pure Tung Oil and waxed and hand polished with Carnauba Wax. This finish allows the wood to breathe and age sonically over time, like a fine violin.

The drum set features a proprietary bearing edge design which enables a greater tuning range and resonance. The hardware is also a proprietary JNDC design and focuses on low mass and minimal contact technology, which enables the greatest vibrance a drum is capable of while providing reliable strength and reliability, elegantly.

The JNDC American Legacy Series features Corder solid brass full length tube lugs, cast bronze bass drum bass drum claw hooks, solid nickel over brass 2.5mm hoops, custom low mass 90-degree floor tom legs, low mass floor tom leg mounts, nodal point vent holes and minimal contact bass drum spurs.

These drums are part of the next generation of drum design and performance, which JNDC is dedicated to advance with science, vibrant tone and results!

Sizes are 26x15, 14x10, 16x16, and 18x16. Drums only; hardware/cymbals sold separately.

Notes:

Bass Drum Spurs

NEVER lift the bass drum using the spurs. Due to the minimal mounting design the spurs are designed to only support the height and position of the bass drum. This design eliminates excessive mass upon the drum, accordingly.

Bass Drum Angle

To adjust your bass drum spur angle just loosen the supporting thumb screw. Once you loosen the thumb screw rotate the spur to an open or closed setting. Use the hash marks on the spur hub to align the thumb screw to the internal threads and secure the thumb screw. This operation will become more efficient as the spurs acclimate to use.

Bass Drum Hoops

Steam bent hoops are not reinforced, so they may exhibit minor variances in dimension due to moisture or setup. To approach your seating of these bass drum hoops, use the same approach you use on standard hoops by finger tightening the tension rods and ensuring the head is centered on the drum and tension rods are aligned to the tube lug. As you tighten the tension rods, adjust the hoop to conform to the proper alignment of the tension rod to the tube lug. This will allow you to seat the hoop and head avoiding any splay.

Bass Drum Spur Height

To adjust the height of the bass drum, merely turn the larger locking nut counterclockwise. Upon loosening the lock nut, turn the spur rod counterclockwise to increase the height of the bass drum, then hand tighten the locking nut once you have your desired height/length.

Bass Drum Spur Tip

To adjust your bass drum tip from spike to rubber, merely turn the locking nut clockwise and then adjust your rubber tip to the desired position. Upon finding your desire profile, just tighten the locking nut.

Floor Tom Legs

The floor tom leg mounting design uses a locking nut profiled to the diameter of the floor tom leg itself. If the leg has been removed, reinserting it only requires that the locking nut profile allows the leg to pass through the mount with a simple turn of the locking nut.

Floor Tom Resonance System

The tip of the floor tom leg has an adjustable lock washer the allows the player to adjust the resonance of the floor tom. The rubber tip can be adjusted to hold air or not, depending on preference. The more air within the rubber tip affords the drum greater resonance. To adjust resonance, merely turn the lock washer counterclockwise to loosen and then position the rubber tip to your desired height. Upon finding your desired height, tighten your lock washer.
