Craviotto Drum Company is renowned for crafting heirloom-quality, one-ply solid shell snare drums and drum sets that have become the industry standard for custom drums. Handcrafted in the USA by skilled artisans, Craviotto drums are celebrated for their unparalleled sound, versatility, and striking aesthetics.
Founded in 2004 by the late Johnny Craviotto—a professional drummer who performed with artists like Neil Young, Ry Cooder, and Buffy Sainte-Marie—Craviotto Drum Company has its roots in Johnny's passion for vintage drums and craftsmanship. In the 1980s, he began experimenting with steam-bending techniques to create one-ply drum shells, leading to the establishment of the Solid Drum Company. By the 1990s, his collaboration with Drum Workshop (DW) brought his snare drums to a broader audience.
After Johnny's passing in 2016, the company relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where it continues to uphold his legacy. Craviotto's commitment to innovation and quality is evident in their diverse offerings, including the Custom Shop, Private Reserve, and limited-edition series. Notably, their collaboration with Adrian Kirchler of AK Drums Italy produced a series of limited-edition, handmade metal snare drums between 2008 and 2016.
Craviotto drums are favored by professional drummers, studios, and collectors worldwide. Artists such as Chester Thompson (Genesis, Frank Zappa), Ronnie Vannucci (The Killers), and Chad Cromwell (Neil Young) have chosen Craviotto for its exceptional craftsmanship and sound quality.
