Djembes

Djembes are historically rooted in West African musical culture, and can add a tribal, rhythmic flair to your musical arrangements. The Drum Center of Portsmouth hosts drum circle nights, and djembes are often at the core of their rhythmic pulse. Standard djembes run about 2 feet tall and 1 foot wide, and are a great starting part for the budding percussionist at home or in the classroom. Like most world-percussion instruments, djembes are available in both wooden and synthetic shell and head materials.
