This format is as the name describes: a drum shell pack with the stands included. Rarely will you see that a throne (that’s a seat) included with these kits, but occasionally it is. This particular format is less common than a shell pack only, but there are a handful of options including Pearl Export, Sonor AQX and Yamaha Stage Custom Birch series. What's included in a 'drum set with hardware'?
A drum set with hardware includes both the drum shells (bass drum, snare, toms) AND the matching hardware pieces: cymbal stands, hi-hat stand, snare stand, bass drum pedal, drum throne. Cymbals are usually NOT included.
How is this different from a complete kit with cymbals?
A 'with hardware' kit doesn't include cymbals - you'd buy cymbals separately. A 'complete kit with cymbals' includes both hardware AND cymbals as a starter package.
