Evans Calftones are designed to have the vintage look and sound of calfskin, with an added emphasis to the middle and low-end frequencies. The sound is warm, bright and articulate with reduced overtones, thanks in part to the synthetic coating. Since these calftone heads also sport the EMAD system, you'll get two different acoustic foam dampening rings that can be quickly mounted to the front of the drum head for ultimate control over sustain and resonance.
