The Evans EQ4 Calftone Drum Head is constructed from a 12-mil single ply film with a special synthetic fiber top layer. Evans Calftones are designed to have the vintage look and sound of calfskin, with an added emphasis to the middle and low-end frequencies. The sound is warm, bright and articulate with reduced overtones, thanks in part to the synthetic coating. The addition of Evans EQ4 inlay ring helps to focus the sound and further reduce overtones and sustain. The result is a punchier tone that is well suited for lower to medium volume playing.
