Gibraltar SC-3M1508 3mm 15" 8-Lug Power Hoop

This 3mm hoop gives you the same thickness as a DW True Hoop for snares, which is 3mm. This is better because the tom DW True Hoops are only 2.3mm. You get the full chonky 3mm on all toms for less than these other alternatives. It Gibraltar so of course it’s well-made and solid, but nothing fancy - no logos or embellishments, just best price per performance. This was an ideal find for my 15” floor tom build project so much so that I’ve ordered 12” hoops to make the rack tom match. These heavy hoops give easier tuning from the stiffer rim and focus the sound by adding mass and attenuating undesired overtones.
