Perfect fit for my vintage Gretsch snare drum!
I bought a used Broadkaster snare with the Lightning throw and butt. Not totally sure, but I think the drum had been dropped (on its butt!) at one point, because the adjustment screw had been bent, and adjustment was a little on the wonky side. I replaced it with this new one, as it was the correct one for my drum. It works great, and replacement was super easy, as butt plates tend to be. My only minor gripe is that I wish the Lightning throw/butt combo would accept Canopus Snare Wire Belt, but the belts are too wide to lay flat in the Lightning on both sides. I kind of feel like the Canopus are the standard size for ribbon like that, so it's a bummer that they don't fit. And the Gretsch nylon belts--their standard--kind of suck. So I'm stuck with snare strings, which isn't the worst thing in the world, but I prefer belts (or straps, ribbon, whatever). All that said, the Micro Sensitive strainer kills the Lightning strainer, but I didn't want to drill new holes for it. So here I am.
