Ludwig LAPAM3 Atlas Mount Bracket 3 Pack

I bought the Atlas mounts for a Vistalite drum set that I did not have the nerve to drill for tom mounts and bass drum mounted cymbal holder.
Pros-combined with the Atlas Arch mount this is the most flexible rail mount system I’ve ever seen in the 55 years I’ve been trying to learn how to play the drum set. Using it as a tom mount instead of a suspension system gives more adjustments, less weight and just looks far better than the RIMs or other systems. Although I still think suspension systems were an answer to a problem no one ever had to begin with. I never lost a job because a band leader thought my drums didn’t ring enough.
Using one for a bass drum mounted cymbal holder works well too. I can position the cymbal exactly where I want and eliminate a stand from the hardware bag.

Cons-they’re not cheap and they are a bit heavy and bulky. I think they are worth the cost once you consider the other hardware you’re eliminating. And by bulky I mean how far they protrude from the drum. It’s not as bulky as a suspension mount on a tom but if you use three on a bass drum (2 for the Atlas Arch and 1 for the cymbal mount) your current bass drum bag will be an awfully tight fit. And a standard 9.5 mm cymbal holder will require careful placement of one of the sleeves included with the mount, it won’t work without it.

But since bass drum rail tom mounts and bass drum mounted cymbal holders worked fine for John Bonham I don’t think most of us will have any trouble with the Atlas hardware.
