Ludwig LB414 Black Beauty Snare Drum 14x5 8-Lug

What can I say? I hope Ludwig offers more snare drums in eight lug configuration.. I always wondered why my re-issue olive badge acrolite 5x14 with eight lug sounded better than all my other snare drums that were 10 lugs.. I didn’t put together why this was until I saw Drum Center’s Ludwig video comparing the sonic differences between the eight lug and 10 lug snare drums.. I finally had clarity. It is subjective like the difference between Pepsi and Coke. A smoother softer. Feel more organic warm tone. It’s almost like playing a snare drum with that in between feel and sound as a of a Tom Tom, when you switch off the snares off That nice buttery warm feel ..The shell can breath freely less mass and bulk from the extra lugs chocking the drums resonance..
