This popular snare drum, the 14x5 Chrome Over Brass Supraphonic, was brought back in the 1990s as a reissue of the legendary 1959-61 Brass 400 model, also known as the "Super Ludwig." It features a seamless brass shell which is 1.2mm thick with a sleek chrome-plated finish, triple-flanged hoops, and a Keystone badge. This is a "perfect" snare drum, right?
It may be perfect, but is it "Luxe?"
This is the Super Ludwig kicked up a notch! Upgrades include chrome over brass hoops, a P86C throwoff, and 8 lugs instead of 10! The Ludwig Supraluxe is a gorgeous drum with a gorgeous sound, designed to have a harmonious synergy between the shell and hoops with enhanced breathability by offering fewer lugs. This is the 'luxury' Ludwig snare drum, and it's incredibly limited, so grab one while you can!
