Meinl Irish Bodhran 14 x 6 Goat Skin Head Brown Burl

Meinl Irish Bodhran 14 x 6 with Goat Skin Head — Authentic Celtic Sound with Modern Control

The Meinl FD14IBO Irish Bodhran merges traditional Celtic craftsmanship with contemporary playing features. Hand-selected goat skin stretched over a deep rubber wood shell delivers the warm, resonant tones characteristic of Irish bodhrán music, while innovative design elements give modern players greater control over pitch-bending and tonal expression. This 14-inch by 6-inch frame strikes the balance between authentic heritage sound and practical playability for both traditional and contemporary applications. The absence of a traditional back cross-brace opens new sonic possibilities, allowing experienced players to execute advanced techniques with precision. A dampening layer around the rim minimizes unwanted overtones, producing cleaner articulation and definition across the dynamic range. Whether you're exploring Celtic traditions or expanding into world percussion styles, this bodhran delivers both versatility and character.
