Masterwork of the Spanish Tradition: Meinl Artisan Edition Paquito González Professional Cajon
Handcrafted Personally by Pepote
The Artisan Edition Paquito González Professional Cajon stands at the absolute pinnacle of flamenco percussion instruments. Developed in close collaboration with legendary percussionist Paquito González—whose transformative work graces over a hundred seminal recordings by Paco de Lucía, Vicente Amigo, and Miguel Poveda—this signature cajon embodies centuries of Spanish musical heritage. Every single Professional model is handcrafted in Spain personally by master builder Pepote, ensuring unparalleled acoustic performance and artisan construction quality.
Solid Tulip Wood Body and Lateral Playing Surfaces
Unlike standard laminated cajons, this professional instrument is built from a massive 15 mm solid tulip wood resonating body that projects a remarkably warm, organic tone with rich, deep bass response. The matching tulip wood frontplate is framed in elegant Ukola wood to deliver razor-sharp, articulate high-end slaps with minimal effort. To facilitate traditional flamenco phrasing, the instrument features a specialized lateral playing surface on its sides, expanding its dynamic and tonal versatility far beyond the front face alone.
Micro-Adjustable Dual-Snare System and Floating Resonance
Inside the cabinet, the cajon houses two independent sets of ten pre-tuned micro-strings (20 total) that are individually adjustable on each side. This system gives players complete precision over snare sensitivity, allowing you to fine-tune the instrument for dry, rapid-fire finger rolls or wide, wood-forward bass hits. To maximize acoustic resonance, the cajon rests on six specially formulated soft rubber feet that isolate the body from floor dampening while keeping the instrument firmly planted during intense performances.
