The 8.5-inch Remo R-Series Low Collar Skyndeep bongo head provides a weather-resistant polyester surface with a Calfskin graphic infused into the film, producing warm tone and projection.
The low collar fits full-size bongos with radius counter-hoop rims, improving hand clearance and reducing the torque needed for tuning. It also limits tuning-hook projection below the drum for more comfortable seated playing. The series uses 7.15- and 8.50-inch replacement sizes; compatible full-size bongo families commonly pair a 7- or 7 1/4-inch macho with an 8 1/2-, 8 5/8- or 9-inch hembra. Check the exact rim fit.
The synthetic film resists weather changes and requires little maintenance.
