Three things wrong with the one I purchased:
- The spring adjustment does not work, either turning the rubber knob or removing the knob and using drum key. The threaded screw pulling or loosening the spring never moves.
- There is a mechanical “rattle” noise. It’s not overly loud but could be annoying on a low volume acoustic gig.
- The beater shown on the shaft is the hard red
resin one. Mine came with a solid white felt beater with a loose red resin ball included. The manual shows a way to exchange the beater heads, but with a different style felt beater…not the one that I got. Trying to remove the felt beater that I have will destroy it.
The item was sold as clearance and not eligible for return. Fair enough. I have it attached to a practice kit and it will be useful for that. But at $199 it is no bargain when you can buy a DW single pedal online for $160.
