When it comes to general use, I love the Ambassador set up. There are several great manufacturers of drum heads out there, each with their individual strengths and weaknesses, but Remo's Ambassador allows the drum to sound most like a drum to my ears.
The same can be said for wires, however the Canopus wires are far and away the best I have ever used.
