Part of Tama’s flagship STAR series, this 14" x 5.5" snare pairs a thin Bubinga shell with a natural Indian Laurel finish and inlay. Its 4.5mm, five-ply Bubinga shell has an outer and inner Bosse ply, supported by 9mm Sound Focus Rings. Bubinga’s dense character contributes deep, dark tones and a rich low end, while the thin shell is designed to vibrate freely for added resonance and clear projection.

A rounded bearing-edge peak promotes contact between the head and shell, helping transfer vibration efficiently. The carefully hand-oiled shell interior and bearing edges, low-mass hardware, and die-cast zinc hoops are designed to complement the shell’s natural response while providing focused attack and a full-bodied sound.
