Tycoon Percussion Bell Tree w/Stand

I took a chance on this model as there are no online demos, but I didn't like the ergonomics of my LP model so thought it would be worth comparing. They're quite different from each other, much to my surprise. The Tycoon model has smaller bells that resonate less, aren't as loud, have smaller gaps in pitch, and a much more focused tone when struck individually.

In a studio setting, I am certain this will be the best model to you, based on prior experience. In a live setting, the LP might be better due to being louder and starting on a lower pitch (though there's a huge gap before the second bell on that model).

On this model, using the provided mallets/strikers, you get a bit more of the metal clang dragging along the bells. For this reason, I will be using other mallets/strikers in my collection (I have plenty!). I generally am aiming for a smooth transition not too far removed from bar chimes but more akin to orchestral bells.

This model has by far the best construction of any, with a strong base and very secure attachment of the bells to the stand. The bell metal itself also looks to be of better quality and doesn't tarnish like other models.

I would give this five stars if it had a bit more volume and sustain and a slightly wider tonal range, but I am able to adapt my playing (and striking implements) to get more of what I need out of it, and I unhesitatingly recommend it over the other current models, all of which are roughly the same price.
