The Tama STAR Maple 5-piece drum set pairs the open, bright character of maple with the warmth and body of a solid-ply core. Its five-piece, 5mm shell construction places a 2mm solid maple core between cross-laminated plies, with a curly maple outer ply for the Ocean Blue finish. The kit includes a 22x16" bass drum, 10x8" and 12x9" rack toms, and 14x14" and 16x16" floor toms.

Designed to support shell resonance, the STAR system combines rounded bearing edges, oil-finished maple interiors, low-contact hardware, and rubber-isolated mounting points. Die-cast zinc hoops provide a focused attack and consistent tuning feel, while Quick-Lock brackets make setup and breakdown straightforward. Drums only; hardware and cymbals are sold separately.
