The Tama STAR Maple 5-piece drum set pairs a distinctive Raspberry Curly Maple finish with an innovative shell design developed to bring out both the bright, open character of maple and the warmth and body associated with solid-ply drums. The set includes a 22" x 16" bass drum, 10" x 8" and 12" x 9" toms, and 14" x 14" and 16" x 16" floor toms.

Each STAR Maple shell uses a 2mm solid maple core between cross-laminated plies, with 5mm Sound Focus Rings. Resonance-focused details include rounded bearing edges, the Super Resonant Mounting System, and low-contact hardware. Die-cast zinc hoops and Hold Tight washers support focused attack, consistent tuning, and secure tension rods. Drums only; hardware and cymbals are sold separately.

• Bass drum spurs use soft, high-mass rubber feet; their two-piece design separates the metal spike with rubber to absorb impact.
• Low-mass bridge lugs, floating bass drum claw hooks, an imprinted badge, and a small wooden air-hole grommet minimize shell contact and added weight.
• Die-cast zinc hoops offer a crisp attack, focused projection, and consistent tuning; Hold Tight washers use rubber rings to help keep tension rods from loosening.
