Tama STAR Maple 14" x 8" Snare Drum in Ocean Blue Curly Maple

Part of Tama’s flagship STAR series, this 14" x 8" snare drum combines the open, bright character of maple with the added warmth and body of a solid-core shell. Its 5mm, five-ply maple construction features a 2mm solid maple core between cross-laminated plies, 5mm sound-focus rings, and an outer curly maple ply in the Ocean Blue finish. The interior and bearing edges are hand-finished with oil.

A rounded bearing edge promotes contact between the head and shell, while the die-cast zinc hoops deliver focused response, crisp attack, and projection. Low-mass hardware and Hold Tight washers are designed to support shell resonance and help keep tension rods secure. The STAR series’ resonance-focused design brings together detailed construction and a full-bodied maple sound.
